Your work as a Test Architect
Every day is different in this dynamic job. One day you and a project manager might be talking to a big client about the feasibility and risks of the client’s wishes. Another day you might be working on a test plan for a big development project, or assessing a series of automated test processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation. As a Test Architect at Technolution, you play an important role in your projects. Together with the System Architect and the Project Manager, it’s your job to put together the project plan, and you are be responsible for the quality of the delivery. In addition, you ensure that the engineers in the project take the right steps with regard to verification and validation.
You are usually working on multiple projects for different clients. Because Technolution always strives for the highest quality, you are involved in all project phases. You perform risk analyses and write test plans for big development trajectories, and contribute to tender processes by providing substantive analysis and advice. You develop test strategies that are an optimal fit with the product risks identified and that match the context of the client and other parties involved. Together with the test engineers you work on the test scripts, the test environment, and the tooling to simulate realistic situations. You write up the reports resulting from the test processes and determine what has to go into the delivery documentation. Occasionally, the client is Technolution itself, and your job is to develop a test strategy for one of our own products – for example cybersecurity products with electronics and embedded software.
As a Test Architect, you’re a member of our QV guild that focuses on sharing knowledge and innovations in the field of testing and quality control. Together you work on developing and improving our test methods. Our goals throughout are maximum automation and repeatability of the test process.
