Consultant

You’re someone who likes to translate challenges that clients face into technological solutions. You’re as much at home in exploratory consultancy meetings with clients as in design discussions with engineers. You’re not happy until you understand what an organization really needs, and you’re good at translating those needs into smart, future-proof solutions. You’re a strategic thinker, but a practical one: you want to realize innovative ideas through technology that works. As soon as you’re convinced of the value that a solution can offer a client, your enthusiasm is persuasive. Are you the holistic consultant that we are looking for, for whom it does not matter whether the solution is realized with software, electronics of programmable logic – or any combination thereof?

Your job as a consultant 

As a consultant at Technolution, you build bridges between the client’s world and the world of technology. The client is often a government body, but could also be a high-tech startup, a network operator in the energy sector, or an aerospace organization. Your motivating object is to know and understand the client and the context of their needs, to comprehend complex issues, and translate these, in dialogue with your technical colleagues, into concrete pointers for a solution. These solutions come in many forms: software, electronics, programmable logic, or a combination of these things. Take high-speed data processing as an example, high-assurance information security, or energy management for industrial estates.

Your work is mostly at the creative start of the life cycle of systems, where valuable innovations begin: you have exploratory conversations, analyze the context, and build relationships with tactical stakeholders. You chart needs, risks, and interests and understand how to play to these. You translate vaguely formulated needs into clear, functional demands, and you do this in sharp analyses and persuasive proposals. With your advice and reports, you support clients in making the right business considerations, helping them shape ideas and make informed decisions.

Together with our engineers, architects, and project leaders, you work on concepts that are technically viable as well as relevant to society. You develop roadmaps, write recommendations, and support the development and implementation of innovative solutions. You have an enterprising mindset: you think in opportunities and proactively pursue them. You know how to articulate your ideas clearly and build trust with clients. Thanks to your bridge building qualities, you connect internal teams and client teams with each other, steering them in the direction of a common ambition.

Typically you

You have:

• Completed a Bachelor or Master degree in technology or science.
• At least 3 years’ experience with consultancy, systems development, or product innovation.
• A broad interest in technology and insight in business processes.
• A lot of experience with client contact and translating demands into technical solutions.   

You are:

• A strong and persuasive communicator.
• An analytical and conceptual thinker.
• Enterprising and result-oriented.
• A connector: you are just as comfortable talking to clients as to technical and business colleagues.

You combine substance with decisiveness and client focus. You enjoy building relationships and keep asking questions until you’ve gotten to the core of the issue. You get energy from translating complex challenges into concrete solutions that work – both technically and organizationally.
