- Maintenance and improvement of test systems
- Close cooperation with production and service

Your job as Product Engineer
As a Product Engineer at Technolution, you work in a multidisciplinary product team on our own high-assurance security solutions. Our products are used in environments where security is not an option but an essential requirement. They are truly state of the art: in your position you will be working on such things as encryption and post-quantum cryptography.
Your job is wide-ranging and involves a lot of technical diversity. You analyze and solve (embedded) software issues, perform vulnerability scans, and support our production and support teams in dealing with complex issues. You might be looking into a problem in embedded C or Python, or at the connection between Linux and the underlying hardware. The core of it all is embedded software and keeping our products up and running. You’re not afraid to look across the boundaries of your own knowledge – for example by examining the other side of an interface that has been programmed in a different language.
Maintaining and improving our test systems is an important aspect of your job. If clients are experiencing a problem, you try to reproduce, diagnose, and solve it. But to do that, it is crucial to have a properly operating test system. You ensure that new use cases and findings are added to our continuous integration and development cycle.
Your job will often involve ad hoc tasks and sometimes you’ll have to switch fast. You might be engrossed in a software analysis when a colleague from production asks you to take a look at a test system that isn’t working. Or a client might call with an urgent question. Together with the Product Team Lead you determine the priorities and ensure that the product remains reliable, across the full breadth of the scope. You consult regularly with the Product Architect, who also assesses the technical content of your work.
Working at Technolution is all about collegiality and cooperation. You can always count on your colleagues if you need help, and we expect that you in turn will be willing to cooperate with others to achieve the best results. Meanwhile, we’ll give you all the space you need to shape your position in the way that works best for you, and you’ll have every opportunity for personal and professional growth.
Typically you
You have:
- completed an HBO (higher professional education) degree in some technical discipline;
- experience with embedded software (C and/or Python);
- demonstrable experience with Linux in embedded systems;
- a few years of relevant work experience (±5 years).
You are:
- independent and analytical;
- curious and willing to learn, including outside your own field;
- a good communicator and a team player;
- flexible and able to switch from one task to another fast.
The breadth of this position is what makes it special. As a product engineer, you don’t focus on one aspect alone, but work step by step to improve the entire product: from embedded software to test setup and production environment. You will have the opportunity to become thoroughly familiar with building high-security hardware products, including the engineering aspects.
